Our Mission

cornerstone church plant

We believe in sharing the good news about Jesus locally as well as supporting those who share the love of Jesus through acts of compassion and gospel proclamation. We do this locally and support those who seek to do this outside of North Swindon.

In 2015 several families from our church planted a Church North of Thamesdown Drive. And in March 2020, one week before the lockdown came into force, Cornerstone became independent of us at NSBC.

We believe the message of Jesus is meant to be shared so everyone can hear the good news. This is what the Bible calls being witnesses!

In 2015 a church was planted in the north-western part of North Swindon – named ‘Cornerstone’. Full-time pastor, Steve Mitchell heads up the work in partnership with Cliff Reynolds (a mission worker working with ABWE). There are 50-60 who attend each Sunday and various activities and projects that take place regularly. The core group has a real sense of family at its heart and focus on building healthy, Christ-like relationships with each other and their community. Perhaps Cornerstone is the place for you, not North Swindon Baptist Church?
